“As we continue to float into this new year, there are many goals I plan to accomplish in the future! 👩🏽💻💓 Three include; getting my second & third college degree 🎓👩🏾🔬, helping others with my brand @hopenmedicine ✨, and to take control of my mental, physical, and emotional health! To help ensure that I am accomplishing my goals, I am taking control of my physical health by getting a routine Pap smear test every three years. #25andAlive
BUT, a recent guideline change is threatening to end access to the Pap for women under 25. This is terrifying. A young woman just like me is going into her twenties and just starting to make her mark on the world. Without the Pap screening, our health could be in danger.
We CANNOT let this happen. All young women deserve to be 25 and alive! 💓
January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect time to demand access to the test, and raise awareness about all of the lives the Pap screening can save.
FYI: A Pap smear screening can be used to detect cervical cancer by checking your cervix for abnormal cells! Although it may seem “too early” to get tested, it is best for women to begin getting tested in their early 20s! 🧪👩🏽⚕️”
