The women in my family are all supportive of one another and function as a true unit, helping each other cross any bridge necessary. To maintain our family culture and generational health, it’s incredibly important that we stay on top of our cervical health with regular screenings. Growing up, these conversations with the women in my family didn’t come naturally – and that needs to change! It’s 2021. Let’s get past the “it’s too awkward or uncomfortable to talk about” phase. It’s crucial that women begin screenings at age 21 and continue with them every three years afterwards.
